Hi all...
AS IF the first year is over already. It's terrifying right? That we are completely done for the Summer. All I can say is roll on second year and pray that it hopefully won't go as quick. I'm currently making my way through this post blog thinking of how much as been achieved since September. If you remember quite a few blog posts back, I typed up a post called Looking back so far and honestly, It feels like yesterday since I wrote it up! But now I'm currently making a mental note of how quickly the first year of University has gone all together alongside making a list of plans I can do over the Summer break. I can confidently say there isn't that much! But there is still so much to look forward to, even preparing myself for the second year because god knows how quick that is going to come.
I can happily say I feel like I've achieved a lot through my first year but mostly I've gained independence and confidence. If you didn't know already I didn't have the proper Uni experience as I'm still living at home and travelling to Nottingham. At least this gave my a lot of free time to (at least try) and dedicate myself to my sketchbook & blog. I was preparing to be more organised and having free time really helped a lot to just sit down and plan/make a list of things that needed doing.
My confidence has grown increasingly, I've got to know a lot of people who are unusual and different to who I would usually hang out with, which is great! Although I feel as if maybe I wasn't part of the social bunch and perhaps the reason why was because I didn't have the full University experience i.e. not living in halls & I couldn't really go out as much. So really my whole Uni life has been A LOT different but hopefully there is people who feel the same. I really don't mind as I feel like I've been doing quite well recently (It just means I've saved up more money than not going out!)
Each week was challenging, in the best way possible & it was so easy to get intrigued and stuck in. However it is one HUGE relief that our final first year brief is completed. The long Library hours was a no from me but I'm glad I got the time to actually motivate myself knowing that I would get something I hoped for out of it. I'm happy because of how much I've learnt and been able to discover.
Overall, My University Experience has been a lot different of course but it has been challenging like many other student's experience. I'm impressed with how much I've achieved in definitely myself and my work. It's not every day you find something that you'd love and are passionate about. So, Roll on Summer!
I hope you all have a great Summer.
With Love,
A x
