Fantasy Vs Reality

Hi all...
There's something I have to ask, are you buying into a fantasy world?
In this little blog post, I decided to express my opinion of the unhealthy image of beauty you find common in magazines. Whether this is photo shopped or not perhaps the value of beauty can be misleading.
So do magazines promote an unhealthy image of beauty? Perhaps they do yes. The media plays a dominant role in today's society. The way it represents reality has a strong impact in our view. I feel that we are living in a time where beauty is perceived as a major value in today's day of age. It's a core value and also plays a part in today's culture. It plays into women's insecurities, it's misleading mostly & makes them believe that if they purchase a product promoted in a magazine, some how it will 'help' to improve their insecurities and their image. Correction, I think this is incredibly wrong. The imagery in magazines that we are bombarded with, whether they have been edited or not are far from reality. Somehow it image manipulation, i.e Photoshop plays a huge part in the industry. I reckon people don't really understand how serious this issue is but technology is crafting women to be 'perfected' into becoming this unrealistic version of self image. Even though its 2018 and people are becoming to ignore our crafted technology, why do women continue to buy into this fantasy? Maybe it's all about self image, maybe it's to make them feel good about themselves. Really I find that this is manipulating the mind as it's not really promoting any kind of beauty. It's more like it's a cheat.
Many celebrities argue against promoting an unhealthy body image. So far in 2018, Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes slammed Cosmopolitan for photo shopping both their bodies in their recent shoot, making them look slimmer. From the photographs below, you can clearly the big difference from the original to the manipulated.

"Camila and I have worked incredibly hard to feel confident and comfortable in the bodies that we have. It's an everyday battle, sometimes," she wrote. "And to see our bodies become so distorted in an editing process is a perfect example of the obstacles we have yet to overcome."
Back in November 2015, Zendaya was spotted being heavily photo shopped in that months issue of Modeliste Magazine. Her 19 year old body was overly manipulated. These are the things that damage women's self esteem.
