Welcome Back...
Today you'll be hearing about my 'Damn Good' review. Not that I even have any experience in making reviews what so ever but here's at little something for you creative lot. At least it's something slightly more productive within the time I've currently been binging on Netflix shows. That's what breaks are for right?!
Here I present to you Damn Good Advice (for people with talent) written by George Lois. If you're looking for a little something to inspire your motivation, rather than watching the day go by, I must admit this book could be a possible mind & life changer.
Even the book cover itself catches the reader's eye - the most important part of selling any book is the cover. It's basic yet bold, you can tell this book is determined to be read.

The way I'd describe this book best is in your face advice plus useful life lessons from the mind of George Lois, America's master communicator. This book could potentially guide you to success or a possible life changer for someone in the creative industry (or I guess just someone with talent).
"Creativity can solve almost any problem - the creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything." - George Lois
Here's a fact for you - Way back in the 50's, Lois has had huge influence on World culture that was actually self motivated by his high energy and enthusiasm. He pursues himself as an 'advertising legend' and if you'll ever flick through or read this you can certainly say it's true. Lois the creator of Big Idea advertising and has created various breakthrough ad campaigns throughout his creative career.
I guess all you really need to is one idea with 110% of passion to succeed.
"Creativity is not created, it is there for us to find - It is an act of discovery"
Each lesson is a mind blower. Through 120 tips Lois explains, demonstrates and teaches us the useful tips to discover our creative potential. Throughout the book his stories and life events offers us new insights to keep us inspired of the creative process in each aspect of design and helps us with our own unique and inspirational thinking. Lois has a great sense of doing things the right way through a short book about creativity and marketing. If you really need a kick, it is a great motivator that is easy to read, so no complaints there.
I read this book straight for a week on and off (even if it is a quick read) but every time I got back into it, it was still fresh and in your face. I loved how clear and straight to the point Lois within his whacky style and imagery, even this was entertaining.
If you can overlook this, you can get some really good inspiration here. I'd recommend this to any designer or creative. Perhaps somebody destined for an idea or just purely needs the motivation and the kick to get started.
"You are the master of your fate:
"You are the captain of your soul."
With Love
