If you knew me well enough there's one thing you need to know and it's my obsession with the television show Peaky Blinders. Since it first hit our TV screens in 2013, it's given itself an unmissable reputation and is the most addictive TV drama.

If you've never seen this before then it's a must watch. Peaky Blinders is a British television action crime drama based upon the exploits of the Peaky Blinders gang and is set up in Birmingham. The signature 'blinder' look is basically the finishing touch and has taken the fashion world by storm.
Peaky Blinders has also gained a greater influence on menswear. Flat caps for example, have taken it's toll and is lately the newest fashion trend on the street. The signature item that helps developed a look of your own. The flat cap is a clear staple of the show that seems to be popular with the tribe. So this year, I reckon the flat cap is an alternative choice and is something that wouldn't look out of place. Paired with either a trench coat or perhaps a denim jacket.
The shirt of course, the round collar (club collar) shirt is a sharp part of the look. Although the actual period of the 1920's the collar was detachable and buttoned into collarless shirts. These days your club collar is attached and adds vintage aesthetic to any jacket.

The cut, cropped trouser are worn with work boots with the hem falling neatly on top of the boot. Today there is plenty of contemporary takes on this style, slimmer cut trousers that are very popular at the moment. You can pair these with a classic white or coloured button up shirt.
Any look wouldn`t be complete without a pair of thick soled, work boots (I specifically look at Dr Marten`s boots in this case). These boots can be worn in a number of ways to make an outfit complete but matching them with a pair of black skinny jeans is an easy combination. Black easily can go with anything and in this case it can fit perfectly. The look can be perhaps grunged up or can just be part of your own individual style. I reckon you can also mix these boots with formal attire, a slim fit suit to balance the look and not overdone.

The coat, the long streaming coat really finishes off the look and is made to be seen. Like in the show, it is a 100% match with a full suit but in this day, you can keep it casual with a pair of denim jeans alongside with a muted coloured top.

The popularity of the show and the eras fashion is still growing and will soon enough creep fully into the high street. I think it`s great that we can see fashion changing its ways (a good alternative in menswear) and perhaps the reason why is because of the success and reputation of one addictive and hugely loved television series. I`d recommended this television series to anyone.
With Love
