Introducing the first official project of everything Pink. Kicking off Fashion Communication & Promotion I've been exploring the colour of pink. So what is the meaning of Pink? A delicate colour that means sweet, charming, playful, tenderness and feminine. 'Tickled pink' means being happy so the colour itself is of universal love of oneself and others. Representing affection, harmony and friendship.
However whenever we think of pink we see how it involves just the 'girly things'. This is the official colour for little girls and may always will be. In fact you may see this colour to be more appropriate to the female clothing but its use of the colour can be over used the majority of time. Although we may not think this and to many women pink is a real love.
In the history of fashion no colour has ever been so loaded with pink and was even considered to be the 'masculine' colour before it seemed gender specified. So when did pink seem feminine? It was in the 1950's when the idea of pink was strongly considered to be the women's favourite. This was a result of several factors one being the result in the change of the clothing industry. Clothing manufacturers helped to shape the idea of generated clothing which helped make it easier to distinguish babies. It is only until the most recent years men have somewhat reclaimed the colour pink and still are trying in the present day.
The fashion world is seriously obsessed with the colour and 2017 is the year to rethink pink. This Spring it was hard not to notice how many of the most powerful & memorable looks relied on feminine colours like the classic pink and has lived beyond the fashion shows and onto the streets and high street stores. So really there is a shade for everyone. If you're interested in pastel, hot pink, bubblegum pink etc... It's best to relive and love the sweetness.

I have to admit pink is a favourite of mine and I do own a few general shades in my wardrobe including shoes, accessories & even a selection of lipsticks! So it was the perfect start for me to explore and collect photographs from my own 'pink collection' and around the stores.
I hope to share my love of pink with many designers either new or old. So here is my collection of photographs from Graduate Fashion Week, London, June 2017 containing a shade or two.
